Murder of Halit Yozgat
Halit Yozgat
In 2004, Halit Yozgat, with his father’s help, opened a “tele-internet café” with several computers and telephone booths at Holländische Straße 82. On 6 April 2006, shortly before 5 p.m., the young man was waiting for his father, who was due to relieve him at that time as usual. Halit wanted to be at evening school on time. The internet café was busy: in the back room several people sat at the computers, and in the front room two telephone booths were occupied. As later emerged, an employee of the Hesse State Office for the Protection of the Constitution was present in the internet café until at least shortly before the murder of Halit Yozgat. The sales counter, behind which Halit stood, was in the same room. When his father arrived at the internet café shortly after five, he found his son dying. The 21-year-old died a short time later at the scene.
