Escape after the murder of İsmail Yaşar

On 28 June 2005, the Mittelfranken Police Headquarters issued a public appeal for information, along with composite sketches. The police were searching for two cyclists with black backpacks who had been seen on Thursday, 9 June 2005, at 10 a.m., in front of the kebab stand of İsmail Yaşar, who was murdered there that day, on Scharrerstraße in Nuremberg. In addition, two men aged between 20 and 30 were spotted next to the high-rise building at the Norikerstraße car park by the Wöhrder See in Nuremberg. The two men, 185–190 cm tall, slim, who closely resembled one another and had short hair, reportedly loaded two nearly new men’s trekking bicycles, one black and one anthracite-coloured, into a dark van or minibus that morning of 9 June 2005. The side and rear windows were tinted. The statement from the Mittelfranken Police Headquarters includes the following sentence, phrased in the conditional: “The vehicle’s license plate may have been a foreign one.”
