„Fliegerscheune“ I
Beate Zschäpe, Tino Brandt

On 21 June 1995, 16 neo-Nazis celebrated the summer solstice at a former Hitler Youth “Fliegerscheune” (aircraft barn) located on the Cospoth, a plateau near Oßmaritz in the south of Jena. Borrowing from the racist Ku Klux Klan, a wooden cross was burned. Photographs taken at the event show Böhnhardt setting alight the cross, which had been wrapped in flammable material, as well as Beate Zschäpe. The photographs were found in 1996 during a search of Zschäpe’s apartment. According to her statement to the police, Tino Brandt had also been present at the gathering. The barn was demolished years ago.
