Wanted Notice

On 28 January 1998, the Thuringia State Criminal Police Office (LKA) issued an internal, nationwide wanted notice for the three fugitives from Jena. The names of the suspects were first made public on 21 February 1998, after being released by the LKA. Despite a number of leads pointing to Chemnitz and later Zwickau — obtained in part through surveillance and reports from the domestic intelligence agency’s informants — the search remained fruitless, with devastating consequences.
