Brown House

The so-called “Brown House” at Jenaische Straße 25 in Jena-Lobeda was used by Jena’s neo-Nazis from 2002 onward as a “residential and training venue”, after they had acquired the former restaurant “Zum Löwen” through a lease-purchase agreement. At various times, Maximilian M., Andre K., Christian K. and Ralf W., among others, were registered at the house or had their names found on the letterbox. The house, with its 1,000-square-metre plot, offered space for comradeship evenings, training sessions and concerts. It served as a base for the “Young Nationalists” (JN), the “National Resistance Jena” (NWJ), as well as the seat of the NPD’s district and state associations and the “Free Network Jena” (FNJ). A citizens’ initiative in Lobeda protested for several years against the right-wing extremist activities and attacks emanating from this house. The house, later closed by building authorities, was eventually demolished, and the site was redeveloped with a residential complex.
