„Confession DVDs“
After the NSU exposed itself on 4 November 2011, „confession DVDs" were sent nationwide to, among others, Muslim and left-wing organisations. The popular cartoon character “Paulchen Panther” was misused for the 15-minute NSU propaganda video. The video showed photos of the ten murder victims as well as photos of the German-Iranian “Getränkemarkt Simon” on Propsteigasse in Cologne, which had been the target of a bomb attack. It also included footage from television reports showing the injured people and destroyed shops on Cologne’s Keupstraße. The video also contains photos showing some of the victims covered in blood at the crime scene. These images must have been taken by the murderers themselves or by an accomplice at the scene. A copy of the DVD was delivered directly to the Nürnberger Nachrichten, not by post. To this day it remains unclear who did this.
