Mehmet-Kubaşık-Platz

Mehmet-Kubaşık-Platz in Dortmund’s Nordstadt district commemorates kiosk owner Mehmet Kubaşık, who was murdered by the NSU at his kiosk on Mallinckrodtstraße on 4 April 2006.

The Innenstadt-Nord district council decided on the naming on 5 February 2019; the official inauguration took place on 8 November 2019 in the presence of the Kubaşık family. A memorial stone had already been unveiled outside the former kiosk in 2012.
