Monument to Mehmet Turgut

On 25 February 2004, 25-year-old Mehmet Turgut was murdered by the NSU with several shots to the head at a snack stand in Neudierkower Weg in Rostock-Toitenwinkel.

For the tenth anniversary of his death in 2014, the city of Rostock erected a monument at the scene consisting of two offset, facing concrete benches with German and Turkish inscriptions; between 10:10 and 10:20 a.m., sunlight falls between the benches. Annual commemorative events have been held there since 2012.
